Halloween bark
Instructions for Halloween Chocolate Bark
-
Prepare the Baking Dish:
- Line a 9×13 baking dish with parchment paper, making sure the paper extends over the sides for easy removal later.
-
Melt the Chocolate:
- Place each type of candy melt or chocolate (Merckens chocolate, Wilton Candy Melts, or Sweet Tooth Fairy Melts) into separate microwave-safe bowls. (Avoid using glass bowls; silicone or plastic is recommended).
- Microwave each bowl for 30 seconds at 50% power, then stir. Continue heating in 15-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate and candy melts are fully melted.
- You’ll need (select the color you want in your bark):
- 12 ounces of milk chocolate
- 1/3 cup orange candy melts or chocolate
- 1/3 cup green candy melts or chocolate
- 1/3 cup purple candy melts or chocolate
-
Create the Base Layer or pour into color sections if not creating a swirl on top:
- Pour the melted milk chocolate into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly, about 1/4 inch thick.
-
Add the Swirls:
- Randomly dollop the melted orange, green, and purple candy melts on top of the milk chocolate. Use a butter knife or toothpick to drag through the dollops, creating a swirl pattern.
-
Decorate the Bark:
- While the chocolate is still wet, top it with:
- 1/3 cup Ghoul Mix, sprinkles, or M&M’s, or Yum Crumbs
- 3 tablespoons candy eyes, or gummy worms
- 2 tablespoons Halloween sprinkles
- While the chocolate is still wet, top it with:
-
Set the Bark:
- Place the baking dish in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or until the chocolate is completely set.
-
Break and Serve:
- Once firm, remove the bark from the dish using the parchment paper and break it into serving-sized pieces.
- Serve and enjoy your spooky Halloween bark!
